This currency discriminator features Semacon's SmartDetect™ Advanced Counterfeit Detection System designed to accurately pinpoint suspect banknotes including ultraviolet (UV), magnetic (MG), fluorescence (FL), metal thread (MT) and infrared (IR) detection technologies.

This discriminator was developed specifically for banks and other businesses with high cash volumes and is capable of continuous operation in the harshest environments. It features a color graphic touchscreen display and control panel and is one of the most compact two pocket discriminators available.

Our SmartFeed™ Advanced Banknote Feed System Technology rapidly and reliably processes banknotes of all conditions ranging from very worn to brand new. Multiple processing modes enable the operator to sort, batch and organize banknotes quickly and efficiently. Banknote sorting and value counting is accomplished at 750 bills per minute.

Precision Counting Accuracy & Error Detection
The S-2500 is engineered with Semacon’s SmartCount™ intelligent banknote screening system which analyzes each banknote to detect all possible types of banknote feeding errors. This technology ensures the most accurate counts available in a desktop currency discriminator.

Advanced Counterfeit Detection Technology
This model offers Semacon’s SmartDetect™ Advanced Counterfeit Detection System designed to pinpoint suspect banknotes featuring ultraviolet (UV), magnetic (MG), fluorescence (FL), metal thread (MT) and infrared (IR) detection technologies for the most accurate counterfeit detection available in a desktop Currency Discriminator.

Flexible Operating Modes
The S-2500 can be operated in a variety of discrimination modes, including mixed bill value counting, mixed bill sorting by first denomination, mixed bill sorting by specified denomination, sort by face and sort by orientation. The machine can also be used as a currency counter without denomination recognition, operating at a range of speeds from 800 to 1500 notes per minute. Batching and continuous add mode are also supported.

    We needed a machine for our check cashing office that would be able to eliminate double verification by employees. The machine has the added benefit of counterfeit detection to quote "Semacon's SmartDetectâ„¢ Advanced Counterfeit Detection System designed to accurately pinpoint suspect banknotes including ultraviolet (UV), magnetic (MG), fluorescence (FL), metal thread (MT) and infrared (IR) detection technologies. " I'm not sure what any of that means but it sounds impressive. We this think was a great purchase, now when my clerks go to another office they complain about not having this machine

    Great machine and easy to use

    This isn't my first experience using an advanced counter like this. I used a different brand machine which had a lot of errors reading the cash, it wasn't reading them wrong it just couldn't read them. This machine doesn't have any issues at all just runs great. Maybe they have come that far technology wise. And a 1 year warranty is pretty much unheard of on this type of advanced counter. I'd give it 5 stars if I had it longer but will review again in 6 months

    I have been using this machine for about a month now and couldn't be happier. I have been using discriminators for years and have tried several different manufacturers. Having used other Semacon products I felt confident in ordering the S-2500 and I haven't been disappointed. Great price - great service.

    Usually I don't write reviews but thought I would share my experience with this machine. I was a bit nervous as purchasing a machine like this is an investment and I had to justify this for months before getting the go ahead. Its been a few months of use and thus far we have not been disappointed. The machine saves time and is 100% accurate. It is extremely user friendly, it probably does even then more then we need but to be honest we haven't read the manual. It was a great purchase decision.
